Albenza (Albendazole)
Medication Side Effects:
Along with its
needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not
all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need
medical attention.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following

Rare
Fever; skin rash or itching; sore throat; unusual tiredness and weakness
Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention.
These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to
the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of the following
side effects continue or are bothersome:
Less common
Abdominal pain; diarrhea; dizziness; headache; nausea; vomiting
Rare
Thinning or loss of hair
Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some patients. If
you notice any other effects, check with your doctor.
Precautions on using Albenza (Albendazole) Medication
It is important that your doctor check your
progress after treatment. This is to make sure that the infection is
cleared up completely, and to allow your doctor to check for any
unwanted effects.
If your symptoms do not improve after you have taken
Albenza
medicine for
the full course of treatment, or if they become worse, check with your
doctor.
For women of childbearing age, it is important that you use birth
control while taking Albendazole since this medicine can cause birth
defects or other problems
