Bentyl / Dicyclomine HCL Use Indication:
Bentyl
comes as a capsule, tablet, and oral liquid. Bentyl / Dicyclomine HCL usually is
taken four times a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label
carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do
not understand. Take Dicyclomine HCL exactly as directed. Do not take more
or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
Dilute the oral liquid with an equal volume of water just before taking
the dose.

Medication Side Effects:
Although side effects from Bentyl / Dicyclomine
HCL are not
common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are
severe or do not go away:
dry mouth
dizziness
nervousness
drowsiness
difficulty sleeping
blurred vision
difficulty urinating
upset stomach
constipation
If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor
immediately:
difficulty breathing
fast pulse
Precautions on using Bentyl / Dicyclomine HCL Medication
Before taking
Bentyl / Dicyclomine HCL,
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Bentyl or
any other drugs.
tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, including vitamins. Do not take Bentyl
and antacids at the same time. Bentyl / Dicyclomine HCL should be taken 1 hour before
or 2 hours after taking antacids.
tell your doctor if you have or have ever had glaucoma, ulcerative
colitis, an enlarged prostate, esophagitis, heart disease, myasthenia
gravis, or difficulty urinating.
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Bentyl / Dicyclomine
HCL, call
your doctor. Do not breast-feed while taking this medication.
you should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car
or operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you.
remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug.
