treat high blood pressure. It relaxes your blood vessels so your heart
does not have to pump as hard. It also decreases certain chemicals that
tighten the blood vessels so blood flows more smoothly.

Although side effects from
Lotrel - combination of amlodipine and benazepril are not
common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are
severe or do not go away:
cough
headache
excessive tiredness
upset stomach
diarrhea
lightheadedness
rapid heartbeat
excessive sweating
flushing (feeling of warmth)
muscle cramps
nosebleed
fever
sore throat
decreased sexual ability
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor
immediately:
swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, arms, or legs
difficulty breathing or swallowing
fainting
rash
yellowing of the skin or eyes
Precautions on using
Lotrel - combination of amlodipine and benazepril
Before taking Lotrel - combination of amlodipine and benazepril
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to amlodipine,
benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec),
fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), moexipril (Univasc),
quinapril (Accupril), ramipril (Altace), trandolapril (Mavik), or any
other drugs.
tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, especially diuretics (''water pills''),
fentanyl (Duragesic), lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid), other medications for
high blood pressure, potassium supplements, and vitamins.
tell your doctor if you have or have ever had heart, liver, or kidney
disease or diabetes.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or
dentist that you are taking Lotrel - combination of amlodipine and
benazeprill.
